The Rise of Skywalker - Unanswered Questions! [SPOILERS]

Kylo Ren

After 42 years of work in progress, the Star Wars saga finally concluded with the third episode of the final trilogy. Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker hit cinemas less than a week ago, and the reviews from critics and audience are out. It is quite clear how divided the opinions are about the film, with critics being mainly unhappy about it, while fans are more forgiving and seem to have accepted the conclusive episode. However, that's not what we're going  to talk about.

Fans gained closure when the fates of Princess Leia (awesome that she was actually a Jedi too), Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewy, Lando, Kylo, and Palpatine were revealed in the film, but there still are so many unanswered questions. We hope that these questions will be answered in either future Star Wars TV shows or movies, or maybe in the comics, but meanwhile, let's talk about them.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

How was Emperor Palpatine Resurrected?

We knew that Palpatine was going to make a return in The Rise of Skywalker, but we weren't sure how. The expectation was for him to return in some sort of ghost-force form but there he was, in full form, with no explanation about how he survived his supposed death. He did however mention to both Anakin and Kylo that Dark Force can seem "unnatural" to some, so maybe that has something to do with it?

More About Palpatine, How did He Get from the Death Star 2 to Exagil, and What About his Family Tree?

Both questions have no answers yet. We can't help but wonder who was the lucky lady wedded to the great Emperor Palpatine. We know that Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter, but we know nothing else about his bloodline. Also, he was supposed to be dead, how did he end up in Sith planet Exagil? Maybe there is more to the planet than we know.

What happened to Finn and Rose's Love Story?

Rose had an important role in The Last Jedi. She saved Finn at the end of the film, and confessed her love to him. They even shared a kiss. Maybe they decided to end things and just not keep us, the fans, in the loop. On top of that, she got sidelined and sort of replaced with Jannah. Poor Rose.

What did Finn Want to Tell Rey?

Finn seemed to have something really important that he wanted to tell Rey. Maybe it was about the Force, and how he suspects that he may be Force-sensitive, or maybe he needed to confess his love towards her, but I guess we will never know. The dude had so many chances.

What was Snoke's Purpose, Really?

A safe and accurate assumption would be that Snoke was actually a clone created by Palpatine. Cloning wasn't unfamiliar to the Emperor, but it seems like he made more than one Snoke. However, what was Snoke's actual purpose? Yes, he served as a puppet leader by why? To what rationale?

Surely the Knights of Ren have a Bigger Role?

In our previous write up, we hyped up the Knights of Ren because they looked really badass, were revealed in the trailer, were kept a secret by Disney, and we thought their capabilities would be revealed in the final film. Wrong. We learned nothing about them, so what was the point of introducing them in The Force Awakens?

The Force Resurrects?

Healing with the Force is normal, we've seen it before even in the Star Wars games, but resurrecting? How did Kylo even know that the force can be used to resurrect Rey in return for his own life? How much more about the Force do we not know, or was it just something they decided to add to the capabilities of the Force?

Finally, Why was Rey's Bloodline Kept Secret by Luke and Leia?

I mean if I was Luke and knew that Rey was the granddaughter of Palpatine, the first thing I would do is inform her, and tell her that I have similar experience, having Darth Vader as my dad. That would at least help her prepare better, but hey, where's the fun in that?
