A couple of months ago, at the Disney D23 Expo in California, Hilary Duff announced that she will be returning to screens in what is going to be a reboot of Disney’s popular 2000s TV Show Lizzie McGuire. Fans were excited, and honestly we were excited too because we grew up watching Lizzie and her awkwardness.
This week, a press release from Disney has confirmed the return of the show and we have a rough idea of what to expect, “The new story picks up as Lizzie McGuire is just about to turn 30. She seemingly has it all – her dream job as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator, her dream guy, and a picturesque Brooklyn apartment – but things aren’t always as they seem.”
Well ain’t that great. We’re about the same age too!
It was also announced that Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas will be returning as well to fill in the roles of Jo, Sam, and Matt McGuire – Lizzie’s family. Here’s a photo of the newly reunited cast posted on Hilary’s Instagram account:
However, there has been no news about Lizzie’s besties Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordon (Adam Lamberg), except for this screenshot by Lalaine that she posted on her Instagram story:
The picture drove fans crazy, and we’re not sure if the duo would be returning to the show as well, but what we do know is that the only thing better than a reboot, is a reboot with the entire original cast. Lizzie McGuire will premiere on Disney+ with all 65 episodes available from the 12th of November 2019 onwards.
