With the final episode of the Star Wars Saga in the bag, Disney has hinted on plans to extensively elaborate on the Star Wars universe. A lot of questions were raised following The Rise of Skywalker, and we can’t help but believe that Disney intentionally left everything open ended, and have major plans to fill in the gaps. The next phase of the Star Wars cinematic experience is on the way.
About 8 months ago, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy told MTV News that they were working on a version of Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), and two days ago, a rumor followed the wind of Episode 9’s success that Disney will be expediting the production of KOTOR. If they decide to stick to the timeline of the KOTOR video game, the story will take place about 4000 years before the establishment of the Galactic Empire.
Could Darth Revan be the main villain of Disney's KOTOR? Judging by the success of The Mandalorian, we have high hopes for KOTOR. If everything works in favor of us fans, we are going to see more jedis and siths, a whole lot of lightsaber battles, and we’ll hopefully learn the origin of Darth Sidious too! Can’t wait!
