When Suicide Squad was released in 2016, it generated quite a buzz with the concept of supervillains becoming heroes, and of course the star-studded casting with the smokin' hot Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Jared Leto as Joker. Although it made the box office with a total of $750 million in sales worldwide, it wasn't a fan-favorite. Critics were pretty hard on it too. This time, James Gunn and Warner Bros have promised to deliver a sequel that will be better than its former, with however, a different set of actors.
In a tweet by James Gunn, he revealed the full cast of Suicide Squad 2:
Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis will be returning as Harley Quinn, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang, and Amanda Waller, alongside other big names like Idris Elba, Taika Waititi, and John Cena. Warner Bros has confirmed that the movie will be released on August 6, 2021, and production is expected to start sometime this month.
