"It's Kismet!" Announcing: Collaboration with Casals Juanola
We're thrilled to share with you a new artist joining the Kismet Decals artist community - Marta Juanola of Casals Juanola.
This talented illustrator from Spain shares her beautifully painted artwork inspired by mother nature, evoking a sense of peace and wonder in each of her paintings.
We asked Marta to tell us a little more about herself and what inspires her:
"I was born in a little village very near the sea in northwest of Spain. I moved to Barcelona to study Fine Arts and Graphic Design at the University of Barcelona. I'm currently based in Barcelona, working as a freelance designer and illustrator.
I'm in love with nature, animals, and the sea, and these elements become the main theme of my paintings nowadays. I'm also very influenced by the Mediterranean light and landscapes of my little native region. I enjoy creating magical and imaginary worlds where there are animals, flowers and landscapes and where the viewer can travel to a dream world.
My magical whales show my admiration for these fantastic animals, the cetaceans, of which I spotted during my travels in northern Europe. My poppies and others landscapes are among other natural elements that I enjoy near my city.
I love working with watercolors because this medium allows me to experiment with color spots, play with very watery strokes and layers of paint. I also love how the "transparency" of it gives my pieces that special touch - making each one different and magical. In many occasions, I experiment with different types of painting materials, allowing myself to explore different textures and painting styles.
My artwork captures the little moments in life, and I'm proud to say that it comes from the soul. I paint with the purpose of evoking emotions in people. I'd like for someone to feel happier when they look at one of my works; to appreciate that my paintings are able to spread positive vibes. This is the main reason that all my paintings have these bright and fresh colors.
I hope you enjoy my art."
Well, Marta certainly got us hooked as soon as we caught sight of her whales! We're smitten with her various whale paintings and romantic poppies; we're quite sure you will be enchanted with them, too.
