Spoilers for Marvel content, in general.
From left: Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, and Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. The Kingpin
The Kingpin is arguably one of the most notable and terrifying villains in all of Marvel Comics. Often pitted against the likes of the more “street-level” superheroes such as Daredevil, Spider-Man, and The Punisher, the villain has proven to be both a formidable fighter and intelligent crime boss in the comics. While there have been many significant iterations of the character outside the pages of the comic books, The Kingpin is most popularly identified today with Vincent D’Onofrio’s marvelously menacing portrayal of the villain in the television show Marvel’s Daredevil.
Vincent D’Onofrio as The Kingpin
The Kingpin rumored to appear in the MCU’s Hawkeye
Hence, you must imagine our surprise (and excitement, if we are being honest) at hearing the rumors of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin possibly making an appearance in the next Disney+ MCU series, Hawkeye. Of course, it must be noted that as of now, this information is yet to be confirmed, but it does tickle our fancy to speculate on what The Kingpin’s inclusion into the series might mean for another well-loved Marvel character going forward.

What The Kingpin’s appearance in Hawkeye might mean to fans
As we are all aware by now (how could you not be), Marvel’s Daredevil, although being a much-loved series by both critics and comic book fans alike, concluded its run much too soon with only three seasons under its belt in 2018. Ever since then, fans have been passionately clamoring to see a revival of the show or at the very least have a chance to witness Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin make appearances in the MCU.
Therefore, if the rumors regarding D’Onofrio’s Kingpin are to be genuine, there could very well be a slim chance that we might see Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil in the not-so-distant future. As of now, the Daredevil television show is not considered to be canon in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if D’Onofrio’s Kingpin does make a return to the screen, it could mean that the studio might just opt to make Daredevil’s 3-season run a part of the MCU at last. After all, where the hero and villain are concerned, one cannot exist without the other, and we cannot imagine Daredevil and The Kingpin without D’Onofrio and Cox being the ones to play them.
