The Batman was initially set to be directed and starred in by Ben Affleck. Unfortunately, Affleck abandoned the franchise after Justice League (2017), giving Matt Reeves the opportunity to work with Warner Bros. on the film. Reeves started almost immediately and has been working on it for over 2 years, and now, things are finally coming together as production takes off, and the main members of production and cast are revealed.
