The new trailer of Marvel’s Loki unveiled during Disney’s Investor Day 2020 last Thursday really had the fans of both Loki and Tom Hiddleston super excited. Being the next upcoming Disney Plus TV Show after Wandavision, and aside from Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye, Loki is expected to debut on Disney Plus in May 2021.
The action-adventure-fantasy show will witness Loki, the God of Mischief, confronting the TVA (Time Variance Authority). The trailer showed many very intriguing scenes, one of which was the scene where Owen Wilson’s character Mobius is seen exchanging wits with Loki in an elevator before we were blown away into a sequence of action-packed shots. Mobius is a significant character from the TVA, and his banter with Loki proves that Marvel will not shy away from their usual humor. Other casts from the show are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant.
Tom Hiddleston as Loki has been among the most prolonged recurring characters in Marvel’s film universe as he first made his appearance in 2011’s Thor. Loki’s character has swung back and forth, sometimes the ally of his brother Thor, and other times his nemesis, throughout his encounters with Thor and Avengers over the years. In all positions, he portrayed a supporting role. It’s going to be interesting to see Loki getting his own show.
Among the bonanza of announcements from Marvel Studios last Thursday, Disney+ will also premiere The Falcon and The Winter Soldier TV series, starring Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson) and Sebastian Sam (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier) starting next March. The show was initially scheduled to be released in August this year but was delayed due to the pandemic.
Well, whatever the case, we are happy that the God of Mischief is going to be in action soon. Meanwhile, we look forward to WandaVision which is set to premiere on Disney+ starting January 15, 2021.
